Join Troop 1097 at the Potomac District 2023 Klondike Derby! This great event only happens once a year, so don't miss your chance to be a part of it!
The Klondike will be held at Little Bennett Regional Park. The fee for the event is $35 per person which includes a weekend of camping, competition, food and fun!
The Klondike Derby is a two-night winter camping event and competition for Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, Explorer Posts, and Sea Scout Ships. Patrols solve problems using their Scout skills, Scouting spirit, and teamwork, all while having fun in the cold.
Note: There is a two (2) vehicle limit and approximately 12 person capacity per campsite .
The patrol skills competition features a choice of 2 orienteering courses, scout skills and initiative stations, a dessert contest and a sled race. There will be a campfire on Saturday evening. The scouts will do their own cooking and will camp outside in tents.
